We're back with the Coogee Dojo Interclub Tournament again this year! We always look forward to this event, and we're excited to be the first MKA tournament to kick the year off in 2025. It will be a great opportunity for your students to shake off any cobwebs, or a fantastic small and friendly one for first timers to gain experience ahead of tournament season. Please note the change of venue from the last couple of years.
In addition to the non-contact tournament, there will be the opportunity for your junior students to participate in a padded contact one-match. It's a great way for those with little to no tournament experience to be matched with someone of a similar size, grade and experience level or some of your more experienced young fighters to give a different format a go.
How it will work:
-Children who express their interest in a padded contact fight, will be matched with an opponent who is of similar weight, height, grade and experience
-We will notify you, the instructor, if we find a potential match for your student, and will confirm whether you will take the fight
-Competitors will fight one opponent only, over two rounds of one and a half minutes, with one minute of rest in between
-The winner across the two rounds will be declared the winner of the match
-Any competitor with a confirmed match who is at a significantly different weight or height to what was submitted on the form will have their fight cancelled, so please ensure parents are taking their child's measurements before submitting the form
-Please note, we may not be able to find a fight for every entrant, but we will be in touch with all parents to confirm, once applications close on Wednesday 19th March
